And, my love affair with the city only grows stronger:"We know hard work, we know the hard work it took to build this city and keep it going, and we know the great deal of work it takes to look for the sunshine in the midst of clouds."You see the goodness here. I tried Seviche last week with a friend, for our annual holiday outing. I'm not much for eating & drinking downtown, so I'm very happy my friend convinced me to come to Seviche. The menu revolves around tapas and mojitos - 2 of my most favorite things! The waitress was very friendly and extremely knowledgable about both the drink and the tapas menus. I had a strawberry mimosa mojito to start. ... View More

Not sure how many people here are big Vonnegut fans. I myself have to admit that I haven't read one of his books in quite a while. But, when I was finally convinced by a good friend that I should read "Slaughterhouse-Five" (I had somehow escaped high school without it being assigned), I went on to read at least 10 more of his books. "Slaughterhouse-Five" was easily my favorite, but I enjoyed ... View More

I was hesitant about reviewing McCormick & Schmick's as it really is more of an upscale restaurant than a bar. But, after being there twice in a week to enjoy the bar happy hours, I decided it deserved a review. In the year or so M&S has been in the Works, I've been there over a dozen times and have never actually been into the restaurant portion. Again, it's an upscale establishment, but the ... View More

Yet another greatly loved Pittsburgh landmark is on its way out. The Original Hotdog Shop in Oakland is for sale and its future looks bleak. I was sad last year when Chiodo's finally sold its last underpriced microbrew and when the dusty bras were removed my the ceiling, but I never really spent that much time there. And, when I drive by Nick's Fat City everyday and see the big for sale sign, ... View More

I recently purchased satellite radio, because I must have any and all new technologies related to music. But, I will still listen to CDs (actually, my MP3 player that now holds all my CDs) and will definitely still listen to Pittsburgh radio. The satellite is just a supplement.
